Pre-Care Instructions – Please Read Carefully Before Your Appointment
To ensure the best results and a smooth procedure, follow these guidelines:
- No hair removal methods (waxing, plucking, threading) your face for at least 10 days- 2 weeks before your appointment. I need to see all your natural hair growth plus removal methods can damage the skin and lead to poor healing.
- No alcohol for 48 hours prior – it increases bleeding, which can affect pigment retention.
- No caffeine for 12-24 hours before – it can increase bleeding.
- Zero sun exposure (or fake tan) 4 weeks leading up to your appointment – no exceptions. Tanned skin is damaged skin. Lotions and spray tans can stain the skin hiding your natural skin tone.
- Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements (Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Niacin, Vitamin E, Omega-3/Fish Oil) for 3–5 days before. PLEASE. These promote bleeding.
- Discontinue Retinol/Retin-A/Niacinamide 4 weeks prior – these thin the skin and can affect pigment implantation.
- Accutane requires a 1 year waiting period.
- No Botox at least 2 days before – or 2 days after. Some clients wait until their Botox is fully active because their facial features are better balanced. Some clients wait until the effects are gone to get a more authentic shape. It’ clients choice.
PLEASE NOTE
- You may feel more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.
- Clients have reported that marijuana can enhance the pain sensors and nerves in the face. I will numb you so that the pain level is a 0-2. The goal is no pain. Â Marijuana use can bump that up to a 4-5+. Also, being high can cause the eyes to appear puffy & droopy.
- If you show any signs of impairment (prescription and non-prescription) substances, you will need to reschedule.
AT THE STUDIO
- Bring your favorite everyday makeup with you to the appointment (lip colors, brow pencils/powders).
- This is a tattoo studio with lots of color analysis, mapping, and pigment mixing. Please don’t wear your new Gucci tee.
- It will get cold so please bring something to layer (jacket/sweater, etc.)
